Donations are slim for special playground
STLtoday - News - St. Charles: "Donations are slim for special playground"
So you want to raise money for a project, what do you do? Walk across Missouri of course. That's just what Thomm Morgan just finished doing.
Thomm's formal effort is known as Unlimited Play. The goal is to raise money for a wheel chair accessible playground.
This particular fund raising effort only netted about $7,000 of the needed $80,000 for the park. The article mentions his obvious dissappointment as well as contact and donation information.
If a handicapped accessible playground is something you'd like to see in our area, please contact Thomm.

Thanks for noticing Tojosan. A friend brought your comments to my attention and I appreciate the mention. Just so you know, prices went up on the project because bureaucrats from the city which owned the park stepped in and required union labor contracts and took control of the cement contracts. The city also agreed to provide $55,000 additional funds to match a challenge grant from another organization. The playground equipment has been delivered and will be constructed by volunteers Oct. 21 "Make a Difference Day". Just wanted you to be in the loop. Thanks again for spreading the word --Thomm Morgan, a middle-aged security and systems guy
Thomm,
I'm so glad you dropped by. I was curious as to how this had been going.
I hope you don't mind, but I'll put in a prayer for you of thanks and further success on this.
Your work on this really impresses me, and if you want to email me an update, or pictures, whatever, I'll post it up here.
Regards,
Todd
Thomm here again. Make a Difference Day was a huge success with more than 100 volunteers giving most of the day to construct the playground. The lady in charge said the combined efforts will cut professional installer costs by more than $20,000. So many people came to help. It was awesome! I'll send pictures your way if I can wrangle them out of the photographer. I live to serve and serve to live. -- Thomm@thomm-morgan.net
Thomm here! Don't know if you'll get this or not, but I wanted to invite you to see my latest adventure in progress. You're invited!
Until next time, make the world better!
